When it rains it pours
Tottenham’s injury crisis continues after Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko had to be substituted due to injury during the Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino just can’t catch a break.
The club have suffered a huge number of injuries this season and it’s taking its toll.
They were most recently hit with injuries to key players such as Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who both missed the midweek game.
Squad players such as Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura had also been out with injury recently but returned to the squad at Stamford Bridge.
It hasn’t been just injuries which have plagued the side either, with Heung-min Son also missing due to the Asian Cup.
Despite performing well at stages, it was clear that Spurs missed a number of their star men against Chelsea.
To make matters worse, not only did they lose on penalties, they lost two players to injury in the process.
Davies & Sissoko suffer injuries
Ben Davies was the first Tottenham casualty as he went down in the first half of the game against Chelsea.
The Welshman went down with what looked to be a leg injury before signalling he needed to come off.
He would limp off the pitch and go straight down the tunnel.
Moussa Sissoko also suffered an injury in the second half when he accidentally kicked teammate Serge Aurier.

He was replaced by Davinson Sanchez.
These will both be a big worry for Spurs, who have suffered an incredible 36 separate injuries in the 2018/19 season, which could rise to 37 if Sissoko’s is serious.

They are also set to face off against Borussia Dortmund in the first set of Champions League knockout stage games next month and will need all their best players back in contention if they hope to progress.
