👩‍💻 Who I Am

I'm Crystal Yifei Liu. I spent two decades at the intersection of technology, data, and digital commerce. I was engineer #37 at Google, where I helped build the early AdWords quality scoring system. I then spent seven years at Amazon as the technical architect behind the Amazon Associates global affiliate platform. After that, I co-founded a SaaS affiliate platform, served as its CTO for three years, and later became an angel investor in six startups.

I've been watching World Cup football since Zidane lifted the trophy in 1998. This site is where my two lifelong passions——data analysis and football——finally meet.

📅 My Career Timeline

1998 Stanford University — Graduated with highest honors in Computer Science. Joined a small startup in Mountain View called Google as employee #37.
1998–2004 Google, AdWords Team — Helped build the early quality scoring system that transformed AdWords from an internal tool into the world's largest advertising platform. Learned that data, honestly interpreted, always beats gut instinct.
2004–2012 Amazon, Global Associates Platform — Led technical architecture for Amazon's affiliate program, expanding it from the US to over a dozen countries. Watched millions of affiliate links and learned exactly what makes someone click—and what doesn't.
2012–2015 SaaS Startup CTO — Co-founded a B2B affiliate platform. Designed the recurring commission tracking engine that powered partner payouts. The platform was later acquired.
2016–Present Angel Investor & Digital Mentor — Invested in six startups (four still thriving). Ran closed-door workshops in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles for DTC founders and content creators. Built this site to apply two decades of data analysis to the sport I love.
